DIRECTV Launches NBC Universal's 2008 Beijing Olympic Games On Demand

More than 500 Titles Available Through the Conclusion of the Beijing Games

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 17, 2008 - DIRECTV customers are catching Olympic fever early this year via a special video on demand (VOD) Olympics programming package now available on DIRECTV's VOD service, DIRECTV on DEMAND, through an agreement with NBC Universal (NBCU). DIRECTV on DEMAND is a new VOD service that is available to those customers who have the DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR or R22 DVR receiver.

As promotion for NBCU's coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games ( Aug. 8-24, 2008 ), NBCU is providing DIRECTV with 10 VOD titles each week, including athlete features, Beijing previews, and more. The service will be available through the end of the Olympics in both standard-definition and HD. NBCU will produce more than 500 titles now through the end of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

To access the VOD content, customers with VOD-enabled DVR's can tune to channel 1008 or go to the home of DIRECTV on DEMAND - Channel 1000 - to see highlights of Gold Medal winning performances.

This week, the DVR Scheduler reached a milestone with more than one million recordings scheduled remotely through the service.

In addition, DIRECTV will be identifying the top shows customers are programming remotely through the DVR Scheduler service. The top 15 recorded shows for the month of June 2008 include:

Mobile phone users can simply go to http://m.directv.com from their mobile phone browser.

The DIRECTV DVR Scheduler is a free and convenient service that enables customers to remotely set recordings of their favorite programs on their DVR via the internet or from their mobile phone. After registering for the service on DIRECTV.com, customers will have the ability to:
Browse and search a huge library of programming on a computer or mobile device including the DIRECTV 14-day program guide and the more than 4,000 DIRECTV on DEMAND titles
DIRECTV® DVR Scheduler supports Series Link™, which allows you to record an entire series of programming from a computer or mobile device.
